• Jump At the Sun

A community-led effort, Jump At The Sun is ultimately designed to make sure that every Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School has its own copy of every book that teachers will need to support the African American infusion-curriculum.

The process will work similarly to a gift registry: Bookmarks is creating a Wishlist area on its website that will allow individuals or groups to buy specific titles.  Each book will available for shared use among each school’s teachers.

  • Raise Us Up Too!

By utilizing research informed practices,  aims to cultivate meaningful and transformational relationships between mentors acknowledged as “Foster Aunts and Uncles” and mentees “Nephews” and their families.

Mentors will engage students in challenging, complex literacy tasks with meaningful, culturally relevant texts, research, and critical inquiry.  By using culturally relevant literary models and motivating research tasks, students will build road maps of positive action, resilience, productivity, and success.

  • Cultural Pop-up Exhibits
