ART, WORKSHOPS & ARTIFACTS OF LOCAL WINSTON-SALEM BLACK HISTORY
POP UP EXHIBIT
Celebrating My Black Culture is a temporary immersive educational art and cultural experience. Curated by Triad Culture Arts, this Pop-Up exhibit features art and artifacts of Winston-Salem’s rich African-American History.
Subjects include local activism, church and spirituality, education, and entrepreneurship. The immersive experience will include, art, music, an online African American History Lab, and workshops from local leaders that are hosted by WSFC/SS Social Studies Teachers.
Research has proven that diversity and cultural understanding helps dispel negative stereotypes and personal biases about different communities. Therefore, this exhibit is designed with Winston-Salem / Forsyth County’s students and families in mind, and the entire community is invited to celebrate our local rich black history.
By bringing people together in order to strengthen and revitalize the City of Winston-Salem, Celebrating My Black Culture contributes to a culturally competent community so that significant and lasting improvements can be made in our local society.

We are biologically wired to find inspiration through our connection to the natural world. Communities must share art, education and empathy to flourish. Design industries need more diversity to guarantee our seat at the table.
